Terms of Service
Last updated: May 30, 2026
These terms apply when you use sedeskbook.com or buy one of our guides. By using the site or making a purchase, you agree to them and confirm you're old enough to enter a binding contract. We've kept them readable. Emailsupportsedeskbook.com if you have questions.
Who we are
SE Deskbook is an independent publisher of systems engineering reference guides, operating sedeskbook.com (“we”, “us”). “You” means anyone who uses the site or buys a guide.
What you're buying
Our products are digital reference guides delivered as downloadable PDF files. Free cheat sheets are available, and every guidebook lists its full contents and shows sample pages, so you can judge the work before you pay.
Your license to use the guides
When you buy a guide, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use it for your own work and professional reference. You may keep copies for yourself and print them for your own use. You may not resell, republish, redistribute, or share the files (including posting them publicly or distributing them across an organization) without a separate license. Need copies for a team? Email us about bulk licensing.
Your imprint
Each copy you buy is stamped with the name, organization, and a unique order ID you provide at checkout. This ties your copy to you. Please don't remove or alter the imprint. Sharing an imprinted copy is a breach of these terms.
How the guides are made
We use AI tools to assist with parts of producing the guides (for example, drafting visuals and diagrams, and helping align terminology with canonical standards and handbooks). This is production assistance, not authorship: every guide is written, reviewed, and audited by active systems engineers, who are responsible for its accuracy before it ships.
Who owns the content
We and our authors own all the content in the guides and on the site. Your license to use a guide doesn't transfer any ownership to you.
Orders, prices, and payment
Prices are listed in US dollars and may change over time. Payments are processed securely by Stripe; by buying, you also agree to Stripe's terms. You're responsible for any taxes that apply to your purchase.
Refunds
Because the guides are delivered digitally and you can preview the contents and download free cheat sheets before buying, all sales are final. That said, we'll always make it right: if you were charged twice, didn't receive your download, or got a corrupted or wrong file, email supportsedeskbook.com and we'll fix it or refund you. None of this takes away any rights you have under applicable consumer-protection law.
Your library account
We keep your purchases available in a library you reach with a one-time sign-in link sent to your email. Keep access to your email secure. Anyone who can read it can reach your library.
Acceptable use
Please don't misuse the site: no attempting to break or bypass access controls, no scraping or bulk-downloading, and no using the guides or site in any way that breaks the law or these terms.
If you break these terms
If you breach these terms (for example, by sharing or reselling the guides, misusing the site, or reversing a legitimate charge) we may suspend or revoke your access to your library and the site, with or without notice. Terms that by their nature should outlast your access (the license limits, the intellectual-property and imprint terms, the disclaimers, the limitation of liability, and indemnification) keep applying afterward.
Disclaimers
Our guides are general professional references, not professional, legal, safety, or engineering advice for your specific situation, and using them doesn't create any professional relationship. SE Deskbook is independent and is not affiliated with, or endorsed by, any government agency or program. The site and guides are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, SE Deskbook is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the site or guides. Where liability can't be excluded, it's limited to the amount you paid us for the guide in question.
Indemnification
You agree to cover us for claims that arise from your misuse of the site or guides, or your breach of these terms.
The rest of the agreement
These terms, together with our Privacy Policy, are the whole agreement between you and SE Deskbook about the site and the guides. If any part is found unenforceable, the rest stays in full effect. If we don't enforce something right away, that's not a waiver of our right to enforce it later. You can't transfer your rights under these terms; we may transfer ours to a successor if the business changes hands.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. When we do, we'll change the “Last updated” date at the top. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
